New Years Resolution for Every Pinoy

Ilang beses na ba tayong nagkaroon ng New Years Resolution? Here are some ideas for the ultimate Pinoy New Years Resolution:

1. Support Pinoy Brands – Marami nang mga Pinoy products na world class, maayos, gawa with the Pinoy in mind at affordable. We’ve featured several products and places (Mary Grace Cafe, Manila Sole, MyPhone, Human Heart Nature, Risa Chocolates, Farmer John premium potato chips, etc). By supporting Pinoy brands, you strengthen the local economy and help more Pinoys get jobs within the country. These products were also made using local ingredients and as much as possible, (especially for Human Heart Nature) they use natural and organic materials and processes.

2. Be a more RESPONSIBLE Netizen – Bilang Pinoy, likas sa atin ang maging matulungin at mapagmahal sa kapwa. LOL!) Kung tunay tayong “concerned” sa ating mga kababayan, let us be a RESPONSIBLE internet citizen. Magandang New Years Resolution yan.

Make it a goal this year to visit places that are not too commercial or tourist-y. My top goal for this year is to go back to Calayan islands. I absolutely love that place! Teeming with seal life and wild life tapos sleepy town pa na walang hotel so you either stay in the church or home-stay with a family. Yun ang adventure. While you’re up north, why don’t you visit the Callao caves as well and have your fill of Pancit Cabagan. (I am still dreaming of it. Last I heard, there was a place in UST that sells authentic pancit Cabagan.)

Be more involved with local charities – No offense meant to the huge multi-national charities and organizations but supporting local and regional charities means that these people are involved with the day to day operations and are truly exposed to the needs of the community and people they are helping. And don’t just give money, GET INVOLVED! Volunteer, talk to the people who are running the organization and the people they’re helping. Know your kababayan naman.

Happy New Year Discoverers! Have a happy and safe celebration! To more adventures, discoveries and stories this 2013!
