As Glenda approached Metro Manila at around 2:30 am, the sky started to turn orange.
We were approximately 5 hours away from the center of the tropical storm and the wind was intensifying along with increased rainfall.
We locked our doors and stayed inside. At around 3am, the power went out. Luckily, we had charged every device we could including flashlights and a portable LED light and fan.
The next morning, we ventured outside to survey the damage. Our house was undamaged, as were most other houses within BF Homes. However, there were a lot of trees that were damaged.
One tree had fallen onto a house.
At the Southland entrance to BF Homes, the metal fence of the Polo Green had been ripped apart as if it were paper. Some metal sheets were completely ripped off and had been impaled on the iron fence behind. Other sections had been ripped, twisted and torn.
Caltex petrol station suffered light damage with part of the roof hanging down.
Onto Alabang Zapote road and the traffic was heavy due to a lamppost snapping in half and falling onto the road. Most damage to businesses was torn signs.
