If you’ve ever experienced traveling to Manila, you will probably have one frustration – it’s that you can’t get anywhere even with a decent map.
Unfortunately, we Filipinos have our own navigation system – what, with the government changing street names on a whim and with roads changing its flow (from one way to no freaking way), constructions and what not, maps are practically useless here.
We also have the number (or color, depends on how you look at it) coding scheme and numerous holidays that will frustrate you even more.
I personally take public transportation, not for anything but simply because it’s more effective. I’m still thinking of whether I should call it efficient but trust me, it’s effective. But I digress.

Even locals get lost in Manila, lol.
But I know what you mean about the public transport system sometimes being more effective at getting you where you need to be than driving. All that jeepney and bus routes can make one’s head spin, though. Good thing Filipinos are very good English speakers so any traveler to the country wanting to have a taste of a PUJ or a tricycle just need to ask for directions.
There’s something better than the public transport system, though. Personally, I love walking–Makati and the old Manila neighborhoods are nice places for walking.
