EYP – The Original FB goes digital
Back in the days, before technology took over our lives, people connected or found each other through the phone book. When the internet took over, it seemed that the phone book and the yellow pages have now become obsolete and a very expensive (not to mention environmentally un-friendly) paper weight
But, thank goodness that the yellow pages have now moved on and have embraced technology. This move has made them even more effective and environmentally friendly.
www.EYP.ph is more than just an electronic phone book. Although it still does provide its readers with contact information about any listed establishment in the Philippines, it has gone a step further by providing the readers with tips and articles that would help us in our day to day search of things. One thing I noticed (that I still have to figure out how to use) is the free phone call! I believe they use the VoIP technology but when we tried it, it won’t work. We’ll keep you updated on how that would work.
They also have their version of Google maps, where you can see photos of the streets you’re trying to view. It’s very handy for those who are like me who are directionally challenged. (Is there even such a word?) You can also use your mobile phone to find particular establishments while you’re on the go! Just type in keywords and send to your mobile network provider and you’ll get a listing of suggestions! Let’s say you’re out on a Friday night and the place you planned to go has a private party and you have to go somewhere else, just type in LUK4GMIK and send to specified numbers and you get a list of gimmik places!
You can also shop from EYP.PH! Just register with them and then browse through the shops and voila! Shopping without the crowd. Pretty cool.
