New Rules and Exclusive Content
Since the very first post that we made on 22nd March 2010, we have continued to produce original and unique content as well as providing research and listings that you will not find anywhere else. We now have almost 300 articles, 4 podcasts and hundreds of unique users every single day.
A website the size of DiscoverPh.com is not cheap. We have paid for everything out of our own pockets. We did not want the site to sway in favour of any company as we wanted to maintain a unique ability to cover the subjects and areas that our users wanted.
We have used advertising to produce some income, but this has decreased due to the excessive and unethical usage of AdBlockers which block our adverts, allowing the users to obtain all our hard work without us receiving any benefits which would go towards the monthly costs that the website incurs.
Unfortunately, this has caused us to have to spend more of our own money to provide a service to our loyal and faithful users. Please keep in mind that we are not looking to make profit from DiscoverPh.com as we want to use the site to promote Philippine Tourism and help the Philippines as a whole, but we would like to see some months where the income is close to the costs that we have to pay every month.
Moving Forward
We have decided to implement a level of protection for our Exclusive Content. Exclusive Content is content that is popular and will be protected so that it can only be viewed if you are a member or you mention DiscoverPh.com on Twitter, Facebook, Google+ or Linkedin.
When you visit an item that is Exclusive Content, you will be asked to login, register for free or mention us on a social network. Once you have logged in or mentioned us, the full content will be displayed for you to view. If you do not have an account or do not want a free account, mentioning us on a social network will grant you access to all Exclusive Content for 7 days, unless you remove the cookie that stores this information.
