Zing! Juice Bar – Glorietta

I’m starting to feel my age. (Anyone who says otherwise will get a swift kick to the head.) My knees are starting to creak, my back gives when I try to lift my sons and I get breathless when I run a few meters.

So, I’ve decided to try to eat more healthy food. I know I’m supposed to quit smoking and start exercising. I never said I’m a saint okay, so let me start with something I can do.

I have been choosing more vegetables than meat, I prefer leaner meat when I order them in restaurants and I try to drink more tea than coffee. If possible, I try to drink fresh juices. The jury is still out on the number of glasses of water I have to drink.

The article is continued below this advertisement.

I’ve been seeing this stall in Glorietta every single time I walk from the MRT station to the office (Oh, and that’s another regimen I’m trying – walking from the Ayala MRT station to my office building. In heels. That should build my cardio and my leg muscles, right? Although it would ruin my shoes…dammit…) I remember this scene from Sex and the City with Samantha’s current boy toy had funky spunk. They tried to make him drink wheat grass to make the spunk taste less funky. It wasn’t successful as Samantha didn’t like the taste of wheat grass either.

Because I’m stupidly adventurous (as my friends would concur) I decided to give this a whirl. I thought it would taste like…well, grass, seeing that it was practically grass that they were squeezing and juicing. It couldn’t be that bad, right? I mean, what’s the worst that it could taste like? Grass? Nothing that I can’t bear with a grimace and a long pull of a swallow.

Surprisingly, it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. In fact, it didn’t taste anything like grass at all. I could taste the orange, the mint and the carrot but I couldn’t, for the life of me, taste the wheat grass. It was a disappointment, to tell you frankly. I was hoping I could write about how it tasted like. Maybe next time, I’ll take a pure shot. *Big grin*

The Zing! Juice kiosk is located in Glorietta 3, right next to Oliver’s Sandwiches. I’d recommend the Wheat grass Wonder to start off. I’m very interested in the Mind Booster drink as it has Ginko Biloba and for those who just can’t stop talking or part of an industry where you’re supposed to talk non-stop, try the wheat grass with ginger.

Store hours are from 10AM to 9PM on weekdays and 10AM to 10PM on weekends.

  5. Thanks for the info. My dad will appreciate this.

  6. You kinda wasted your money. If you have wheatgrass juice with any other kind of juice, the enzymes that are valuable die in like 3 secs from their mixing.

You should always try it by itself and where you know its fresh like at Mondo Juice.

  7. Wow, that’s a really nice read!

  8. Isn’t fruit the most delicious of all foods? I just can’t get enough of it!
