Tutti Frutti – Centris, Quezon City
If it weren’t for the fact that ice cream has caused my thighs and belly to enlarge in such a short time, I would have never appreciated nor would have known frozen yogurt.
Yogurt would be the best way to enjoy a sweet treat without the fear of the pounds. Plus, it’s healthy. And may I just add (as a reference to the obvious), it tastes good!
Tutti Frutti is a well known frozen yogurt franchise in the US and in the Philippines, is the only self-serve, by-the-ounce frozen yogurt store. I actually find this much more economical. Whereas in other frozen yogurt stores you pay for the cup and toppings and syrup, Tutti Frutti weighs the final cup (after you’ve put on the toppings and syrup that you want) and you pay for what you’ve got.
Each ounce costs 20 pesos and you have three types of cups to choose from. The biggest cup can hold about 12 ounces while the medium cup can hold up to 10 oz and the smallest cup can hold up to about 8 oz. If you are like me – a toppings fiend, you can opt to put less frozen yogurt and just go for the toppings. If you’re a purist though, you can put in an equal amount of frozen yogurt and toppings, the point is – the choice is yours! No more asking the person behind the counter to “make dag-dag” because you have that choice. On that note alone, Tutti Frutti gets major points.

There are five branches of Tutti Frutti in the Philippines, Ms. Len Chu – Manager of the Centris branch of Tutti Frutti, informs us. There’s one in Megamall, one in Glorietta and two in Manila. This branch in Centris though, is the only cafe type store. The interiors are a wonderful contrast of white and red and the couch/stall sofa is so luxurious in suede.
The staff is cheerful and helpful, guiding you through the process if you’re a newbie. They give suggestions on combinations and preferences – always with a smile. The place was crisp and clean except for this one part on the floor where it was sticky, but it was near the frozen yogurt dispensers so that could’ve been why.
Tutti Frutti has the Tutti Frutti Fifty Flavors Fans Club membership card. When you visit any tutti frutti branch, ask for the card and present it tot he cashier for every purchase of a 10 oz. cup or more and a box will be stamped. When all 8 boxes have been stamped, you’re entitled to 1 free small cup yogurt with any of the 50 delicious Tutti Frutti frozen yogurt flavors!
