The Sandwich Guy
Sandwiches in the Pinoy lifestyle is now slowly making its mark. For the fast paced lifestyle of the urban Pinoy, sandwiches are a godsend because they’re easy to make, they’re easy to pack and they’re quite filling – although not as filling as the usual kanin and ulam baon.
The problem, I find with sandwiches is the palaman. Let’s face it, pag sinabi mong sandwich sa mga kasambahay mo eh ang ilalagay nilang palaman ay isang manipis na pasada ng sandwich spread or ng mayonnaise. That’s not a sandwish. Although there are other sandwich shops in the metro, I was pleasantly (and accidentally) introduced to the sandwiches of The Sandwich Guy. As their slogan states, they’re fresh, not fried. The little stall I went to was at their MegaMall branch. It was small and cozy enough and I loved the staff! They were very cheerful and helpful. I also loved their bread! I find that a hexagonal shaped bread was not only whimsical but it was actually better than a normal square bread because it had more room for the filling. Yumm! They prepare the sandwich right in front of you and were very gracious when I said that I wanted my sandwiches to be cucumber free.
