Sisig Hooray
For a couple of days I’ve been craving for the ultimate spicy sisig. I understand that each person has a different preference for their sisig. I’ve seen others put mayonnaise on it, while others have put raw egg and still others have put all sorts of condiments on it. Me? I’m a purist. I want it to be in its original state but it has to be spicy and it has to be flavorful. So, off I go to search for the best sisig. You’ll probably get a lot of posts off from me about this Filipino inuman staple.
I’ve eaten at Sisig Hooray before and I have to admit that I trek to Makati from Las Pinas just to have a bite…or three. The sisig is spicy enough but I usually ask for additional chili (and they don’t charge me for it!) Sisig for me has to have that particular personality and in Sisig Hooray’s case, it’s the crunch.
For 65 pesos, you have a choice of either getting chicken or pork sisig. They
also have tuna sisig but again, I’m a purist and I believe that sisig should be pork and anything else is a lame substitute. Another thing I love about Sisig Hooray is their sisig to rice ratio. Other sisig places will give you about a cup of rice to about two tablespoons of sisig. With Sisig Hooray, they give you a cup of rice with their cup of sisig! Now that’s value for your money.
Sisig Hooray has branches all over the metro but my favorite is the Makati branch. The staff are nice and always smiling and they do this musical thing beat thing when they chop their sisig. Check the nearest Sisig Hooray branch near you.

it’s my sis who loves sisig. she orders here once in a while coz it’s cheap. fave nya Gerry’s e :)
Gerry’s is good too. :) There was this old rock club on Taft that has this sisig that’s a bit weird but yummy nevertheless. They put raw egg – that would cook in the hot plate, mayo and tons of siling labuyo. The club’s long gone but the meories of that sisig lingers…
