Orcafe – Pilar Village, Las Pinas
Tucked into a quiet unassuming commercial center is Orcafe, a coffee and ice cream house. It’s actually very reminiscent of my college days as the establishment had that “student” feel. Well, of course it would as it’s right next to a college – doink.
But I digress. The cafe does have this wonderful warm vibe. As soon as you enter, the staff would immediately greet you and ask how your day has been. It’s like she’s an empath, knowing how you feel and with that information, she would then suggest your meal. For this trip, we wanted comfort food and she suggested the carbonara and the deconstructed chicken sandwich. I had to raise a skeptical eyebrow on the deconstructed chicken bit, thinking about a mutilated chicken corpse in my head. She seemed to pick up on it and smiled and said “it’s something like, make your own chicken sandwich with potato chips.” Eyebrow down and cheeky grin up.
The couches are quite small, but it fits the place and it was still very comfy. There were board games that are free to use by the patrons, encouraging them to hang out. Magazines were stacked in little cubby holes and a small area is reserved for the acoustic band that plays every Friday and
Saturdays.
