Gino’s Gourmet – SM Hypermart, Ortigas

I have my weaknesses, just like any goddess (shut up and let me continue) One of my weaknesses would be sweets and pastries – especially cakes. And I have found an epicenter of my brand of kryptonite at SM Hypermart over at Ortigas.

Gino’s Gourmet is a small stall right outside the supermarket of aforementioned establishment. You might be inclined to miss it, as we have all this time.The stall is named Gino’s Gourmet but it’s actually manged by Cafe  Ysabel (love the ambiance of that place. I have to go back there). Aside from cakes, the stall also offers hot gourmet food for you to take home. Sadly, all their food are for take away as they don’t have provisions for a sit and dine situation.

The cakes…oh the cakes are absolutely divine. Just looking at them made my heart skip a beat and my sugar levels erratic. They are pieces of art, beautifully arranged on display. Since I can’t have any chocolate (health reasons not self punishment), we opted for the mango cake and the strawberry shortcake. They’ve packed them into these cute little boxes, ready for us to take home.

They didn’t disappoint. The cakes were fluffy and light and were just simply divine! The frosting and the fruits had a right level of sweetness that didn’t make my teeth hurt. There’s a reason why they cost so much – because it’s most definitely worth it!

Gino’s Deli is located inside SM Hypermart and is open from 10AM to 8PM.
