Divas Kaffe – SM Center, Las Pinas

Traditionally, people serve coffee with their desserts. I’ve no idea where I got this from but from what I know, the reason why coffee (or tea) is served after meals is that the hot beverage actually helps with digestion and it also stimulates the body to eat desserts. So, after a hearty meal, we trekked the halls of SM Center, Las Pinas in search of a coffee place and found Divas Kaffe.

First off, I’m not a fan of anything spelled phonetically. I’m happy that you can manage to incorporate phonetics into your life but for the love of anything that’s holy, don’t put it on a public signage. We’ve already got a problem with our youth’s grammar and spelling, must we make it worse?

Somehow, this small nondescript cafe gives the impression that it’s a poor knock off of Starbucks. The only thing going for them would be their people. The cashier was very polite and cheerful and was pretty sincere about his brand of happiness.

They also had very interesting pastries for sale. The sinful cake and the sinful bar caught my eye. Too bad I was too stuffed for any pastries. I’ll give it a try next time just to see how sinful it truly is.

The coffee was…coffee. There’s really no punch to it and it was just average. But coffee is coffee and it did its job of waking me up.

Divas Kaffe is at the ground floor, SM Center Las Pinas. Store hours are from 10AM to 9PM.

I’ve heard so many people complain about Starbucks’ coffee and how it doesn’t taste as good as other coffee. I personally can only drink Starbucks’ Americano coffee. Plus the ambiance in a Starbucks is part of the whole reason why I go there and why I’m a loyal customer. Say what you will, but Starbucks definitely knows how to market and brand themselves!
